First Day of Tech

“Now you need to put in the battery and see if it works” said Mr Clark
“Okay, thank you Mr. Clark” I replied.

It was a breezy Autumn day on Thursday, the birds were chirping their mouths away and Father’s cat (Penny) was roaming our school without a suspicion in the world. We started the day with prayers led by Asia and Agnes but this time it wasn’t our regular 14 pupil class they were saying prayers with 29 people because of Room Seven’s teacher went on a course so it was going to be a packed day for Room Eight and Room Seven.

As we walked to the bus it was like everyone was trying to save themselves from looming danger as they stormed the bus shouting and crashing into the seats. A few minutes later we arrived at Pakuranga Intermediate and as usual procedure we got off the bus and walked the pathways of the school. Mr Clark introduced us with a warm handshake and we perambulated into our room.

We started with a game called ‘4 square’ which we had to hit our opponents square on a full shot, then we played a game called ‘Big Booty’. Mr Clark numbered us then we had to say ‘Big Booty’ with our number then we had to say someone else’s number. Once we had at least 5 turns we brought to a close the game section, now it was on to business. I was in a group with five people which included: Ethan, Christopher, Phontain and Vitor. The class started with a simple twenty question test which eventually ended up with the girls winning, “Good job” I articulated to the girls. No one else agreed with me and they said the girls were cheaters as they were rubbing out their original answers and putting in the correct ones.

After interval, we gleefully entered the Tech room finishing off our title pages. Forty minutes came and went so quickly as we were having fun, soon Mr Clark farewelled us goodbye. Then we ambulated to the bus where again like another S.O.S ( Save Our Selves) situation.

It was the first day of our Tech classes and it was the best.

The Homework Machine

The Homework Machine

“No stop, please don’t kill me, I’ve only lived in Earth for 14 years and I don’t want to die please” These were the last words Jack said before...

It was a lazy summer day, Jack was bored he’d already finished his Christmas game and he had no one to play with except for his little  teddy bear Cash Buddy. He was about to go outside and shoot some hoops when across the room Jack found a dusty old printer. He guessed it was his dad’s because he was a newspaper editor. The sight of the old printer made him think for no apparent reason but he just kept on thinking, five minutes later a great idea gently landed on to his fragile head.

“I’ll name it the Homework Machine!” Jack said out loud... not realising his seven year old sister Jane was standing outside eavesdropping on him.
Jane was thinking of stealing it but then it was too risky because Jack was always in his room she had to make a plan. While Jack was putting on the finishing touches to his so called homework machine Jane was making the ultimate stakeout plan to steal Jack’s homework machine.

After 2 hours of making his machine, Jack finally went outside to shoot some hoops and that was when Jane’s stakeout plan was put in action. First she laid out some booby traps on the staircase - if Jack was to go up she was automatically alerted. Jane successfully snuck out the homework machine from Jack’s bedroom, “Jane!” yelled Jack.
“Yes?” questioned Jane hesitantly.
“Do you know where my machine went?”
“Noo” said Jane cheekily
“Are you sure” said Jack firmly
“Yes very sure” replied Jane.

When Jack got a call from his mate James, Jane knew this was the perfect time to test out Jack’s machine. It started like a dream for Jane, it finished most of her incomplete homework in under 20 minutes until it reached her 3rd term essay. It kept saying 'error' when she tried to insert it  in the machine. “ Stupid thing why won’t you work” growled Jane in a furious voice. “ Malfunction entering override mode”  said the homework machine,
“Jack!” cried Jane while helplessly running away from the machine
“What” Jack replied
“Your Homework machine is trying to kill me!”
“What!?” Jack said worriedly with a bit of anger
“I’m going up there”
Jack ran up the stair miraculously dodging all of the booby traps, He opened the door to see his little sister almost being decapitated by his creation. He dived in front of the machine then he said
“No stop, please don’t kill me, I’ve only lived in Earth for 14 years and I don’t want to die please” said Jack as the machine pulled out a giant saw, it was about to kill him.

“Hello Jack Jane I’m home” said their mum as she ran up stairs she checked their room to find...

The Anniversary!

“May I have a glass of coke please?” I said in a royal like way as I ate in Sky City's Orbit.  Wait, we’re too far into the story I’ll just skip back a few pages (Flashback music play), Earlier that day...

12 years ago,on the 2nd of December my parents got married. It was the happiest day of their lives (until I was born hehehehe). So 12 years on, in the year 2012 they’re still together and that’s why today is a special day.

Today we had planned that we were going to celebrate their 12th Anniversary in Sky City’s Orbit. Once we arrived there,my family got the best seat in the house, by the dessert table!I shotgunned the window seat because you could see an awesome side of Auckland, my sister was yoloing because she ate desserts first then she ate mains.

On my first batch, I ate Lamb Tange with couscous, rice and also a side of chips. I then called a waitress to get a glass of coke. “May I have a glass of coke please?” I said in a royal like way,
“Ok” she replied
“Thank you  very much” I said in return.

After my first meal, it was dessert time. I had chocolate fondant with a side of Tiramisu.
It was really appetizing and soon after our tummies have digested the food, we paid the bill and thanked them for the lovely meal. That was the best lunch that I have had in a long time.

The End!

The story of Jesus' birth

2045 years ago, a couple named Mary and Joseph were travelling to Joseph’s hometown of Bethlehem. They were travelling there as ordered by king Caesar Augustus. Once they reached Bethlehem, Mary and Joseph were looking for an inn to stay for the night. Mary and Joseph were running out of options, they had come to their last in. Joseph was hoping that they had a room for them. The first innkeeper said “ Sorry, we don’t have a room for you “
but the other innkeeper suggested “I have a stable at the back of my house,I know it’s not plenty but at least it will keep you and your wife out of the cold.”

Joseph took the address from innkeeper and they headed there immediately. Meanwhile, two shepherds watching their sheep were admiring the night sky.“I’m so lucky it’s my turn to watch the sheep,I wouldn’t miss this for the world.” Suddenly, a heavenly light shone down upon them, they were petrified by the current scene but the angel calmed them down by saying “ Don’t be afraid, God has sent me to tell you that the saviour of the world is being born. Follow the star and it will lead you to the future king.”

The angel told them to go straight away and God will look after their sheep, they did as the angel told them and left straight away. They were not the only people going to see the saviour of the world, but also the Three Wise Men who had been waiting for his arrival. “The star looks like it’s descending so it shouldn’t be far now “ said one of the wise men
“ Yes we shouldn’t give up. this is once in a lifetime“ said the other wise men.

After an hour of travelling, the shepherds reached the destination where the angels told them about. There, laying down in front of them was the saviour of the world, “ We are very blessed to be in your presence.
“But how did you know we were here?“ Mary said,
“The angels told us about the coming of the saviour“ David said.

Not before long, the Three Wise Men arrived at the stable where Mary and Joseph were staying. “ We Three Kings bear gifts for the Saviour of the world,“ said one of the kings.
“ Frankincense to offer have I for the future king “ said the first king,
“ Myrrh is mine it is bitter perfume I bring for the Saviour of the world,“ said the second king.
“ Gold I bring to crown him again,“ said the last king.

“ Thank you,I’m very sure that Baby Jesus will be very happy, not just because you gave him your presents but also your hearts“ said Mary. That was the story of how the first Christmas went.
