The Anniversary!

“May I have a glass of coke please?” I said in a royal like way as I ate in Sky City's Orbit.  Wait, we’re too far into the story I’ll just skip back a few pages (Flashback music play), Earlier that day...

12 years ago,on the 2nd of December my parents got married. It was the happiest day of their lives (until I was born hehehehe). So 12 years on, in the year 2012 they’re still together and that’s why today is a special day.

Today we had planned that we were going to celebrate their 12th Anniversary in Sky City’s Orbit. Once we arrived there,my family got the best seat in the house, by the dessert table!I shotgunned the window seat because you could see an awesome side of Auckland, my sister was yoloing because she ate desserts first then she ate mains.

On my first batch, I ate Lamb Tange with couscous, rice and also a side of chips. I then called a waitress to get a glass of coke. “May I have a glass of coke please?” I said in a royal like way,
“Ok” she replied
“Thank you  very much” I said in return.

After my first meal, it was dessert time. I had chocolate fondant with a side of Tiramisu.
It was really appetizing and soon after our tummies have digested the food, we paid the bill and thanked them for the lovely meal. That was the best lunch that I have had in a long time.

The End!

The story of Jesus' birth

2045 years ago, a couple named Mary and Joseph were travelling to Joseph’s hometown of Bethlehem. They were travelling there as ordered by king Caesar Augustus. Once they reached Bethlehem, Mary and Joseph were looking for an inn to stay for the night. Mary and Joseph were running out of options, they had come to their last in. Joseph was hoping that they had a room for them. The first innkeeper said “ Sorry, we don’t have a room for you “
but the other innkeeper suggested “I have a stable at the back of my house,I know it’s not plenty but at least it will keep you and your wife out of the cold.”

Joseph took the address from innkeeper and they headed there immediately. Meanwhile, two shepherds watching their sheep were admiring the night sky.“I’m so lucky it’s my turn to watch the sheep,I wouldn’t miss this for the world.” Suddenly, a heavenly light shone down upon them, they were petrified by the current scene but the angel calmed them down by saying “ Don’t be afraid, God has sent me to tell you that the saviour of the world is being born. Follow the star and it will lead you to the future king.”

The angel told them to go straight away and God will look after their sheep, they did as the angel told them and left straight away. They were not the only people going to see the saviour of the world, but also the Three Wise Men who had been waiting for his arrival. “The star looks like it’s descending so it shouldn’t be far now “ said one of the wise men
“ Yes we shouldn’t give up. this is once in a lifetime“ said the other wise men.

After an hour of travelling, the shepherds reached the destination where the angels told them about. There, laying down in front of them was the saviour of the world, “ We are very blessed to be in your presence.
“But how did you know we were here?“ Mary said,
“The angels told us about the coming of the saviour“ David said.

Not before long, the Three Wise Men arrived at the stable where Mary and Joseph were staying. “ We Three Kings bear gifts for the Saviour of the world,“ said one of the kings.
“ Frankincense to offer have I for the future king “ said the first king,
“ Myrrh is mine it is bitter perfume I bring for the Saviour of the world,“ said the second king.
“ Gold I bring to crown him again,“ said the last king.

“ Thank you,I’m very sure that Baby Jesus will be very happy, not just because you gave him your presents but also your hearts“ said Mary. That was the story of how the first Christmas went.

The Wrong Gravestone

Warning: Before you read this story you must understand even though I’m telling you this story it doesn’t mean I survived...

It was a bright December morning a day before Christmas, (24th December) everyone was so psyched because we were going on a road trip to our Grandpa’s old house that he passed on to me before he died.

Once we packed all our essentials, we hit the road early in the morning. We went early because we wanted to check out its surroundings before we settled in. Just before 3 hours had past, we arrived and I had already spotted some moss on the exterior of the house and decided to renovate it. A couple of hours later, we finished cleaning and renovating the exterior. My wife made us a well deserved pink lemonade when suddenly we heard the television declaring an outbreak of the X7  Monkey Virus.

John (My brother) said that the virus could turn us into human eating cannibals and so we started panicking. Then I realised we were 50 miles from the nearest contaminated area. That meant my family had enough time to escape to the nearest country or state.

After my family calmed down we started packing just in case it got bigger. I went out to the woods to catch our dinner when suddenly I heard a horrible screech coming from the cabin. I was running, running and running until I reached the cabin and I saw it was just a big rat that frightened my wife. After a while I decided to go back and hunt for my family’s dinner. Not long after I entered I heard another screeched, this time it stopped for a while and started again  as if there was a struggle. I ran back to the cabin but this time It wasn’t my family anymore. My family had mutated into human eating cannibals. My life was in danger as I was cornered by zombies. It was a scene that I never thought would happen to me, it was wrong I didn’t want this . I fought back and thats when I saw my hatchet I suddenly hacked my way through the zombies  decapitating all of their heads and (hopefully) killing them.

My car keys were in the cabin but the risk was too hefty and I was too agitated to go in and grab it because there might be some more of those bloody zombies. My only option was to hotwire my car and hope they don’t get attracted by the noise. I hopped in and hotwired it I then spotted a bunch of headless zombies on my side mirror so I stepped on the pedal and off I went with my heart still beating and inside me. In addition to my problem I had nowhere to go,limited supplies and only an extra 35 litres in addition to my full tank, I had to find more survivors .

Not before long I parked alongside these abandoned looking cars to see if I could get some fuel from them, just as I touched the fuel cap I was pinned down by heavy fire when I realised this was my chance to live. After the shooting calmed to a draw I shouted out to them that I wasn’t a zombie then they took me in. I gave a distinct sigh of relief despite the men looking a bit monotonous I was glad to be with other humans because I wouldn’t last an hour running from those human eating cannibals.

In the morning I woke to the smell of bacon and eggs, fatigued by the horrific incident including my life and my once called family I couldn’t be bothered to get my almost lifeless body out of bed.  I decided to stay for a couple of minutes when my pals called me out to the kitchen to eat what Brockwin made us for breakfast. His meal was really appetizing and with that out of the way it was time to go to the couch and watch some television. After a few minutes of watching tv I overheard something from the 3rd room. According to the groups leader we were going to head to the Strike Ops old prison that was where the special hunters are camping so we were going to join them.

Having decided to take immediate action we started packing our stuff and after half an hour the only things left in the house was the oven, tv and the grandfather clock. A few hours into driving we stopped by a dairy and got our guns and weapons ready then we moved out like a coordinated special ops team we then fired a shot to attract the zombies. A bundle of zombies came out and our best swordsman macheted his way through the zombies until this big zombie came running out. We then opened fire at it until I blew his head off with my shotgun.

We decided to make camp 10 miles away as it was getting dark, that was where zombies were at their best because they can smell us and it is a surprise attack manoeuvre that we couldn’t counter, unless we used our flashlights. The only problem with using our flashlights was they were also attracted by light. In the middle of night I couldn’t sleep because the constant reminder of my incident with my deceased family, suddenly! I hear a groan of a zombie so I alerted my gang they got ready in an instant then we went out to find us surrounded by zombies we might not make it out alive this was the wrong gravestone...

The Competition

“Up on the tee Gabby Lansi” was the phrase that started everything.

On the 25th of November My dad, brother and I played in the PGC ( Pinoy Golfers Competition ) which was held at Pupuke Golf Club. My dad, brother and I had to wake up at exactly 6:30 as Pupuke was 45 minutes away from our house and our tee off time was at 10:30 am. My mum cooked us some delicious bacon and eggs with a side of Button Mushrooms, the perfect breakfast before playing golf.

After half an hour of packing, we were ready to leave after we helped out with the washing. We hit the road at 8:45 giving us enough time to get there and still have time to do some putting and chipping. I was in the second flight with my Uncles despite them hitting further than me I was better than them as I was an accurate player.

My flight was up to the 13th hole but I was still needing a par to write down on my scorecard. The first shot I hit was not good, it drew left to the second cut and I needed my next shot to be close to the pin. Not before long we were all up to the green and I saw that my ball was only 30 centimetres away from the hole ( I measured it ). So it was an easy par for me as I just tapped the ball in. Once I got that par, I was unstoppable until the 16th hole where I made a double bogey. I was about to crack under pressure when suddenly I whipped my next tee shot and almost beat the closest to the pin record.

It was another par to add to my card, it left me with a hard last hole as I had to make a par or bogey to have a chance at getting first or second place in the competition. After my round of golf I shot a good 88 with a stableford of 37 this meant that I had a good chance of beating the juniors and tying with the adults. Once everyone had finished their round, they announced the winners and they were: Me 3rd place in the competition and 1st in Juniors( most improved ), Tito Owell 2nd in competition, Tito Victor with a round of 73 stableford 39.

The PGC was fun and on the 9th of December,I’ll have another chance of taking the victory.

' The Rush Hour '

“Shurikens! come and get your Shurikens! only 50c!” Christian and I said while trying to persuade students to buy our awesome shurikens.

Mission Day was probably the most anticipated event of our school year, apart from Athletics Day. Our Mission Day kicked off with a school Mass to give thanks to the Lord for the work of the mission sisters and also to thank God for the lovely weather we had as it was probably the sunniest day St Patricks had experienced in Spring. After a lovely mass we headed to the bottom court to have the Coin Trail as normal procedure for Mission Day, Vitor and I had to put coins in both Room 7's and also Room 2’s one as we were there monitors when they went to Mass.

Once this activity was done, it was time for Morning Tea or in American ‘recess’. This 20 minutes of free time, we spent only one third of it playing as we helped other classes get their stall ready and also helping ourselves.

On my first shift with Christian business started slow as usual but once we got one customer to buy our stock nobody could resist the awesomeness of our stock which contained:

  • Kunai Knives (plain and coloured)
  • One - sided Shurikens (plain and coloured)
  • Tattoos
  • Eight sided shurikens (plain and coloured)
  • Double sided shurikens (plain and coloured).
After 20 minutes of business we had already managed to make 30$ not including the change that we got from Ms. Chao to get us started. The thirty dollars was a good profit but we had to also sacrifice our bodies as the soaring heat made both Christian and I perspire. We were both planning the very second that Phontain and Ethan showed up to the stall we would literally jump out and get a nice cold refreshment from the Tuck shop or in American Cafeteria.

Once Christian and I were done with our shift we both got a drink from the Tuck shop exactly like we planned it. I didn't really spend my money on any stalls because on that day I was very thrifty and didn’t want to spend it all in one go. After 2 minutes of strolling around the stalls I decided to buy a movie ticket combo, fortunately I saw Ethan walking past me so it must have been my shift with Phontain.

Conditions only got better once Mission Day was almost over so Ethan jumped in as Ethan and I were the best marketers and best dealers. “Ok guys pack up time you did a great job” said Ms Chao
“Ms Chao we managed to make 80 + dollars” we replied
“Great Job!” said Ms Chao, by the time it was over we gave away some of our leftover stock to our fellow Room 8 students.

Once the lunchtime bell rang it was time to eat our scrumptious sausage sizzles (hot dog in America). My first bite on my sausage sizzle all the juice came squirting out like a water from a water blaster, it meant my one was fresh.

Not long after I finished my sausage the playtime bell rang and just as I exited our room my face was hit with another dash of wind like I was a magnet to wind on that day. A commotion was brewing behind the brick wall so I checked it out, It happened to be only a singing competition that I mysteriously didn’t join. First up was Aaron but just as he got up everyone started booing him as he wasn’t a crowd favourite. Ethan and I decided to leave as it was getting boring and didn’t want to waste our play time.

At the end of lunchtime it was time to head to Room 8 for the movie and straight away I got my popcorn which was really appetizing. The movie that they were playing was Free Willy it seemed like an old movie because of the graphics. The thought of popcorn was permeating through my head as I craved for some more.

Just as I got comfortable the bell rang and ruined my moment, it was time to line up when Mrs Bullot and all the teachers told us to sit down to see who won the raffle. The winners of the raffle were : Aaron, Angela O and Clarade, they were the lucky ones as it was a bigger hamper than last years.

It was a money filled day for St Patricks and also the best day for 2012.

Mental Note: next time save more money for the after party.
The End ;)

' When I Grow Up ' Review

'When I grow up', a clip made by Tamaki Primary School was featured in the Manaiakalani Film Festival.

When I grow up' features a kid who wonders about his future after his teacher asked him what he wanted to be when he grows up.

This clip have a variety of songs including:  Party Rock Anthem, Lmfao,  T- Pain, Turn all the lights off, Black or White, Michael Jackson, Lazy Song , Bruno Mars and more. The songs only  do not entertain but also fit in perfectly with its topic.

I also like this clip because most kids also go through the same thing wondering if they should join the army or be a hairdresser. It is very mind capturing to see kids like me pulling off awesome clips and could possibly have a future in acting.

I highly recommend this clip as past experiences on wondering what I wanted to 'When I Grow Up'

Doomsday!

College Students, never liked them, never will. On the 16th of May 2012, my soul had to face the horror of seeing College Students and got to make the best muffins ever! But before I tell you that story, I have to tell you this story.

Life was normal in Room 7 and everything was going as planned until (Doom music plays) my teacher (Miss Chao) reminded us about Technicraft, which was at Edgewater COLLEGE! This meant that I had to face College Students! It wasn’t bad; it was a disaster of every proportion.

Once my moment of doom was over, I tried to look on the bright side. We were going to make yummy (hopefully) triple chocolate muffins. Having decided that the class was ready to go, we lined up and started walking towards the bus, the first part of our long and perilous journey. The bus driver (Rob) was very kind. So from my point of view, the ride was going to be smooth  and it was.

As time went by, I got more and more nervous on how I was going to perform on my first time at Technicraft. However, while I was thinking about it we arrived at Edgewater College. “So it begins”, I said to myself.  The College was better than I thought, we were greeted by a group of people and they said “Hello Governors”, so it was a good start to our first time at Edgewater, I overestimated them, they turned out to be a cool bunch of students.

Not before long Mrs. Scott arrived and let us into her kitchen. There were eight ovens and six microwaves. The first thing that we did was we got our aprons and turned on our ovens. Once we had done that we started to get our essentials ready which were: the three pieces of linen for washing drying our hands and dishes, the soap and last but certainly not least the oven mitts.

Eventually we finished combining the mixture and put it in the oven. I was singing this song to myself, which was about watching and waiting. This helped with the current situation because we were doing exactly that watching and waiting for the muffins to rise.

As time went by the muffins looked even more mouth-watering than before but we had to hold it back, it was worth the wait because at the end we tasted probably the best triple chocolate muffins ever made in the history of muffin baking, I hope this didn’t sound like an exaggeration but it was that yummy.

At the end of the day, I had the best time, got to make very scrumptious muffins and changed my perspective of College Students.

The End ;)

Explanation Writing

Phobias
I live in a family of eight eyed freaks...

Have you ever encountered a spider and got a fright? Well Arachnophobia is the word for you. I’m starting to feel that you may not know what Arachnophobia means?  Am I right?, Well lucky for you I’m having a whole explanation about stay tuned! (Unless you have a spider curiously walking on your shoulder :] )

The word "phobia" is a term that refers to a group of illness brought on by feared objects or situations. For example arachnophobia means the fear of spiders. The scientific word for spiders are "Arachnids" and phobias means the fear of something or situation. So the smart scientists made life easier by combining the word, arachnid and phobiawhich makes "Arachnophobia" ( ah - rack - no - fow - bee - ah)

A Phobia is an extreme fear in specific situations when there is no real danger or they are totally out of magnitude. Most of the time, the person realises that his fear is irrational meaning it isn’t logical or reasonable so the individual  conquers its’ phobia.

There are a number of explanations about how phobias develop. Some phobias result from frightening experiences. For example, you could’ve had an air disaster and you could get a phobia of flying. If a phobia develops to an individual the individual will try to avoid the feared situation.

Well this the end I hoped you learnt something about Phobias and probably got more advise on how to conquer your phobia, that's it for me peace out, Gabby ;)
